You know what it’s like driving down the road and the sign reads, “Detour Ahead!” It’s always a bummer and a waste of time.
The good news is that Lord promises that HE will make our paths “straight”. Sounds good to me! So, what do we need to do? Well, we don’t need more information or inspiration. What we need is more, submission! “In ALL your ways acknowledge HIM (the Lord) and He shall make your paths straight!” (Prov. 3:15-16)
So what does it mean to acknowledge the Lord in “all” your ways?
It means that we need to put “first things, first” — which begins with the Lord Himself. If you want God to help you, to direct your paths, to overcome the odds in any area of your life, you have to turn to him first. So next time you are at a cross-road and you need the Lord’s help, pray!
See prayer as a first thought, not a last resort. The Lord will make your paths straight.
