The.Best.Is.Yet.To.Come!

Written by gregdenham on February 20th, 2016

I am so excited about tomorrow and the new beginning that will take place!

We are believing that the City of Auburn will be shaken by the weight of the glory of the Gospel of Jesus Christ transforming lives. The.Best.Is.Yet.To.Come …

What an honor it has been to have served for 27 years: Thank. You. Jesus!!! And thank you church family!!! You will always be in our heart and in our prayers.

As for Stephanie and I, we could not be more happy that our church family will be incredibly taken care of: loved, equipped and challenged. Pastor Josh(ua) Blevins is a godly husband, father and servant of the Lord Jesus. His leadership is for such a time as this! He is a man who understands the importance of healthy systems in communication, oversight and administration. He is committed to the Word and to the work of evangelism. He marches on his knees! And, — He understands the source of our strength is the person and work of the Holy Spirit. He understands that the “Holy SPirit is really good at what He does!” I could not be more happy that Josh will be pastoring the church!

CA family – please keep us in your prayers. We sense an urgency. We are fired up and it is our prayer “Lord, here we are send us!” We have a heart for the city (L.A., Brooklyn, San Francisco) .. the poor materially and spiritually .. for the Jew first than the Gentile (Romans 1:16-17).

“But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, …18 What then?…Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice ..in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Phil. 1:12, 18, 21)

Jesus is Coming Soon.

We love you!

Greg

What an outpouring of love in this morning’s service! The Spirit is alive and well in Calvary Chapel Auburn as we transition to “Crossroads South”. Thank you, Denham family. Each of you has touched our lives. God bless you all.

It sure was a shock to hear you were going to leave. I first heard you on KFIA along time ago. I actually thought I was listening to Greg Laurie and finally realized it was you. At that time you two sounded so alike it was uncanny. Then when we moved to Cool, Ca we decided to come to Calvary Auburn. Your services are so interesting and can relate to our daily living. I know Jesus has something great in store for you and your family. Hopefully whatever it is we will have the opportunity to see it or hear it. Maybe you remember counseling Cindy and I about our daughter and granddaughter a months back. Your advice was to keep the bridge open to our granddaughter. It worked Pastor Greg, we are all attending Calvary and things are going much, much better.
    Thanks…You will be missed.

I got His word, got His word, got His word
If I never, never see you any more
I got His word, got His word, got His word
I’ll meet you on that other shore

    I’m satisfied, satisfied, satisfied
If I never, never see you any more
    I’m satisfied, satisfied, satisfied
I’ll meet you on that other shore

I got His word, got His word, got His word
If I never, never see you any more
I got His word, got His word, got His word
I’ll meet you on that kingdom shore

Thank God and thank you for your ministry in Auburn, the surrounding communities and on the internet. I’ve not had the privilege to meet you in person but have been blessed by your Godly and encouraging messages for over 20 years. I doubt you’ll know until glory how many people have also been blessed by you and your family. But we all know and so does Our Lord Jesus. Keep pressing on towards the goal He has set before you. I’ll continue listening to your messages and other Calvary Chapel pastors wherever I find them on the internet. Take care & God Bless!

  6. Dear Heavenly Father, It’s taken me a while to find my words, through the tears. This immense grief, and personal loss feels so heavy, yet at the same time, I am filled with utter joy and excitement to see Your plan unfold before my dear brother and sister! I pray daily Your protection, peace, vision, hope and love work fervently in their lives as they enter this new venture You have planned for them. I take great comfort knowing You are in total control, and I trust You to continue to take the most gentle care of our beloved Denhams. The 27 years I have been privileged to know them has been such a huge blessing, a true and precious gift from You .. I am so grateful. They have been such an amazing example of how I want to live my life, and thrive in the grace, and love of Your Son, Jesus. I don’t know another Jesus-woman who evokes Your tender grace, mercy and love to all those around her as our dear Stephanie. Never judging but always seeing the best in everyone. Her sweet and generous spirit will be truly missed, as You have given me the honor of being close to her and seeing the true light and beauty of Your Son shine through her. And how my sweet Pastor honors his bride is a truest example I know of how Jesus shows His abiding love for us. I have learned so much from my pastor, and have seen his great love not only for his family, and our church but for Jesus; his heart after God is plain to see. And his compassion for the unsaved is relentless, and a powerful thing to witness. Thank you my sweet Lord for the Denham family, and pray Godspeed. I love You so much, and pray this and all my other pleas, thanksgivings, and prayers for Greg, Stephanie, Greg II, Sarah, Peter and Lily, always in Your Son’s precious Name, forever and ever. AMEN

My wife and I have a heavy heart this Easter. We have been going to “Calvary Chapel Auburn’s” Easter Sunrise service for many years. Having done sound for that event I will honestly miss the Friday and Saturday preparation and setup for the celebration. I will miss the fellowship of the “other” servants of Our Lord, and the sight of Placer stadium filling up early Sunday morning with worshipers of the risen Christ! But most of all I will miss the discussion with my Pastor and friend Greg, as we fine tune the “sound” experience in anticipation of the message and the celebration that Jesus is not in the Grave, He is gone, He has risen. My wife Brenda and I wee saved on an Easter morning in 1984, in Bellflower California at Hosanna Chapel Bellflower. I will miss those times with my brother and his family as we prepared, for years, to celebrate in Auburn’s Placer Football stadium the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Auburn, you have no idea what you will miss with that event now history. Many people in this area, I know were saved on an Easter Sunday, and many had their faith strengthened by that event. Jesus thank you for those times with my wife, my brother Greg, and his family as we prepared and celebrated the most significant event in human history, the resurrection of You Jesus Christ King of Glory!
Thank you Mr and Mrs Denham and Peter, Sarah. and Lilly. I will miss our celebratory preparation and presentation of the fact that we at Calvary Chapel Auburn do love and worship a risen king, who is coming back soon! And Jesus please watch over my friends family, keep them all close and secure until that day when we see each other in paradise at Your side Jesus. I will miss them, and our time together, in praise and glory celebrating Your victory over death and the grave! Thank you for those special precious private times, when we came together as one to present our King to many in and to the vast cloud of witnesses that peered in to what we were doing all those cold Easter mornings, thanking You Jesus for an amazing, life stimulating event in You name! I will never forget.
Thank you Greg, Stephanie, Greg II, Sarah, Pete, and Lilly!
We have had the opportunity, a joyous life time experience, of joining together to present that Jesus Lives to Calvary Auburn, and the world!
